Only Quintilian’s work Institutio oratoria, in 12 books, is preserved in its entirety; it is one of the most valuable sources on ancient rhetoric and pedagogy. As far as literary criticism is concerned, the tenth book is the most important; in Marcus Fabius Quintilianus, better know as Quintilian today, is know as one of the greatest teacher’s of rhetoric from the roman time.
